And the Oscar goes to...

MILA KUNIS! Okay so I'm a little biased because I have a small girl crush on her but she looks absolutely stunning.
Mila has nailed every red carpet this season. My personal favorite has to be the printed Alexander McQueen at the SAG Awards but look at this Elie Saab lilac gown. Her hair is perfect, makeup is perfect and the dress well you can see is perfect.

My runner up best dressed has to go to Hailee Steinfeld in her custom made Marchesa gown. For her first Oscar's appearance she really turned heads and made most of the Oscar Alums look like amateurs. Well done!

Red Carpet Double Take

So before I get to my favorite red carpet looks from the 2011 Academy Awards, I first have to point out a little fashion disaster. Jennifer Lawrence, Best Actress Nominee, wore this gorgeous red Calvin Klein gown that gave me a little deja vu. Check out the dress Scarlett Johansson wore to the 2006  Golden Globes...

Who is her stylist and why did he/she not realize this look has been done on the red carpet already! You should be fired immediately. Jennifer looks stunning but c'mon next to Scarlett she doesn't stand a chance. Rather than praising her red carpet attire, Jennifer's Oscar debut will just be second fiddle. Do your homework next time, geez.

Jimmy Choo? Yes Please!

Are these not the most breathtaking shoes you've ever seen! The perfect color that goes with everything and just a touch of glitz. These Jimmy Choo "Viola" Suede Sandals are at the top of my "Gotta Have It List" but at a price tag of $1,850 they will unfortunately never take up space in my closet. But I can marvel at their versatility on the famous folks that get the chance to rock these phenomenal heels. Enjoy!

Gucci Spring 2011

The Gucci Spring 2011 Collection has captured my full attention and I find myself a little obsessed. The orange, purple and green color blocking is so chic and the gold belts are a must have. I'm also loving the new strappy sandals which have been spotted on many celebs lately including Jennifer Lopez and Camilla Belle (shown below in head to toe Gucci).  Color blocking can be a difficult look to pull off but Camilla looks absolutely stunning! Gucci definitely has set the trend this season with their bright bold colors and chic silhouettes.

Skin Savior

Winter is coming to an end and one thing I know I will not miss is dry skin. If it seems like your moisturizer is never enough well here's why. You need to exfoliate! It's kinda like reapplying chapstick to your dry, cracked lips. Ever notice the chapstick is only a temporary fix? Unless you slough off that dead skin, your moisturizer is only a temporary solution to your dry skin issues.

DDF developed a revolving facial cleansing system that cleanses and exfoliates at the same time. The DDF Revolve 400X Micro-Polishing System retails for $95 and is well worth the money. It has a soft rotating foam head that gently exfoliates your skin while improving your skin tone and reducing the size of pores. Giuliana Rancic swears by this product to keep her skin looking flawless and I plan on purchasing it ASAP!

That 70's Style

I cannot express how excited I am about the growing 70's trend hitting the stores for Spring '11. One of the few decades that got fashion right! Wedges, tunics, and flared jeans are just a few of the popular pieces that reflect the essence of the 70's.  Here's a few great picks from Piperlime.com and Shopbop.com.
If you really want to take this trend to the extreme try high waisted, wide leg jeans with a fitted top, oversize sunglasses are a must, and don't forget about floral prints! Saddle handbags are great accessories  along with a bright, bold scarf.

Do You Have Style??

There's a difference between fashion and style. So which do you have? Do you follow the trends or make your own? I want to dedicate a post to women I believe have true style! It's not always about wearing the latest trends but about finding your own unique look that compliments your lifestyle. When someone asks me "What type of style do you have," I pretty much tell them this...I love jeans, t-shirts, leather jackets and scarves. If you want to put a label on it I guess it's a little classic American that's rough around the edges. Here's a few ladies that I admire not only for their taste in clothing but for sticking to what works and not compromising their personal style.
#1 Jennifer Aniston
No one makes a pair of jeans look better than Jen. She has great street style, she knows what looks good on her body and she continues to wow us on the red carpet too. I don't care how many black gowns or outfits she wears on the red carpet, she always looks amazing!
#2 Reese Witherspoon
Another celeb with great street style is Reese Witherspoon. She's been rocking those Golden Goose boots (far left photo) a lot lately with casual day dresses and over skinny jeans. Reese, like Jen, has a very classic, easy going style that women everywhere want to copy.
#3 Victoria Beckham
Have you ever seen this woman wear flats? Never! That's what I love about Victoria's style. She's more high fashion than Jen and Reese but looks impeccably chic when dressed down. I love that she can make a white t-shirt and platforms look so effortless. Not to mention her fabulous clothing line, which seems to be worn by every celeb in Hollywood. And just being British makes her instantly more interesting lol.

Bronzed Out

With the frigid temperatures across the country all I can think about is summer and working on my tan. Well it will be a while before I can hit the pool but for a winter bronzed look luckily we have self tanners. Here are some of the best self tanners that will get you that perfect bronzed glow.

#1 L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Gel $10. This is my all time favorite self tanner. It comes in a spray which I love just as much but the gel reigns supreme. The spray version is great for keeping your hands clean but the gel  product seems to last longer and it's easier to apply. I also love that it doesn't have that awful smell that you get at the tanning salon sometimes.
#2 St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse $30. I have personally not tried this product but it has some of the highest ratings when is comes to self tanners. It's a little more expensive than most but it's a tinted so you can see where you're applying the product and it smells amazing. If you don't mind the price tag give this a try and I know you'll love it.

#3 A Professional Tanning Application. Most salons nowadays have someone who applies custom spray tans. They usually run between $30-$40 but for special occasions and the inexperienced this is the best way to go. If you're in the BR area try Fantasy Tans by Leah. She will come to you and give you a head to toe natural glow! Check out her Facebook page for more info.

And please whatever you do stay away from the tanning beds and wear protection when you're in the sun.

Flawless Foundation

I thought I'd get back to basics and give some tips on achieving flawless foundation application. First, you must start with a fresh face so wash your face and apply a light moisturizer. I recommend Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate (24 hour miracle cream) it's only $25. If you have oily or combination skin use a primer on top of your moisturizer. I recommend Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer for $36.You can use whichever products your prefer, these are what I use so I can vouch they are great products.

Now onto the foundation...some of favorites are M.A.C. Fix Fluid SPF 15 and Estee Lauder Double-Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation SPF 10. Both have medium-buildable coverage so if you want something not quite so heavy look for a sheer or light coverage foundation. Always use a foundation brush for application, never your finger! Your hands are dirty and using a brush will ensure flawless application anyway. I prefer to use Bobbi Brown Foundation Brush or M.A.C. 109 Foundation brush.

Now the biggest mistake most people make is applying concealer before their foundation. Concealer goes on top of your foundation to cover blemishes and other imperfections. Your concealer needs to be the exact color of your skin or you will have uneven application and look splotchy. Use a concealer brush like the M.A.C. 224 brush to blend your concealer under eyes and over blemishes. As far as the concealer M.A.C. Studio Sclupt is my favorite. Bobbi Brown makes an amazing concealer palette with multiple shades but it's rather expensive.

The final step is some type of finishing powder to reduce shine. If you want a more dewy look skip the powder. I prefer loose powder, Clinique Blended Powder in Transparency Neutral. It's only $19 and lasts forever. You want a powder that sets your foundation rather than add more color. An easy way to do this is to use Smashbox Photo Set Finishing Powder $32 or any white/transparent powder to reduce shine.

Follow these easy steps and you'll have a flawless face everyone will envy! And if you need any tips on selecting the right products feel free to email me heather.goza@gmail.com.

Fashion Rehab

Dear Demi,

I realize you are going through a very hard time in your life, going to rehab and all, but sweetie what on earth are you wearing?! I can't get past the horrible tights to even discuss the rest of your so called "ensemble." Are you even wearing some kind of pants/shorts?? I can only hope you are walking to your car to head straight home and burn your outfit. But hey life could be worse, you could be Lindsey Lohan.
