Memorial Day Makeover

First off let me just say THANK YOU to all our troops serving and fighting for our country overseas. Your dedication and courage is truly inspiring.

Now onto the second most important thing about today...what to wear? Most of you (including myself) will be spending Memorial Day poolside or at a BBQ.  So I picked out some of my favorite pieces that can easily take you from dinner party to pool party

Take a tip from the bikini clad Kardashian sisters, prints are in! Kourtney is sporting a Beach Bunny by The Kardashians Bikini called "Walk in the Water" and Kim's wearing a recognizable printed bikini by Missoni.

How about a great coverup like the one Jennifer Aniston wore in "Just Go With It." This Ana Kosturova  Marissa Dress can be yours for $259. It can easily double as a dress for a casual poolside BBQ. Want someting with a litle more coverage? Try this Tolani Tunic as seen on Jessica Alba for $129.

And as for your perfectly polished toes, skip the flips flops today opt for some stylish sandals like these Lucky Brand Caryl flats for $59. Nude sandals will compliment any outfit and make your tan look even better.

And remember the most important thing you can put on today is sunscreen! Have fun and enjoy your last day of freedom before the work week begins yet again.

Summer Scarves

Don't be so quick to throw your scarf collection in that winter clothes bin marked for the attic. Scarves can easily be transitioned into your summer wardrobe. Warmer weather doesn't exactly make people want to throw on a scarf but if you choose the right fabric and the right print I promise this will be your go to summer accessory.

Stick with light fabrics such as silk, cashmere and knits. Stay away from wool or anything really heavy because we don't need to sweat anymore than we already do in the summer heat. Bright fabrics and prints look great with simple tees and shorts. You can always add a scarf with any summer dress and jean jacket for an easy casual date look. And don't be afraid to play with prints and colors, your scarf doesn't have to match your outfit it should compliment but not distract. Happy shopping!

Chaser Tees

Chaser tees are a little out of the ordinary but wearing one gives you that instant cool factor. Shenae Grimes, Ashely Tisdale and Kirstin Cavallari are huge fans of the tee shirt line.

Who got it right??

Kim Kardashian! Britney looks fantastic for a change in this pink patterned dress but what on earth were you thinking when you put those shoes on??? I mean does anyone of her friends or employees have any sense of style. Someone needs to learn to tell this girl "No" for a change. Sorry Brit Brit better luck next time.

Happy Mother's Day

First of all Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there and the expectant moms. In honor of you all, I want to showcase one of the most stylish moms out there, who is also currently pregnant, Kate Hudson. Kate is gorgeous to begin with but nowadays she really is stunning in all her pregnant glory.

Kate shows pregnant in heels is not just a TV show. She's rocking 4" platforms and she's due in just a few months! But the best out of these 3 looks has to be the yellow Versace gown. The green leopard Dolce & Gabbana is to die for but yellow is so hard to pull off I have to give it best dressed. So expectant moms out there, being pregnant is no excuse to slack on your style. Besides it's a great excuse to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe! Happy Mother's Day.

Here's some comic relief for the day. We have a spray tanning situation here. Under all that orange skin is Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szohr. Mmmmm maybe tone it back next time, like a lot.

The Met Gala

Wow, there was a whole lotta ugly walking the red carpet at The Met Gala this year. Now this event is known for extreme fashion choices and a lot of experimentation so I was prepared to see some out of the box fashion. Well unfortunately there was more bad than good. I want to first highlight my best dressed and I'll have to do a second post about the worst dressed because it's going to take me a while to decide who's actually the worst.
