Who doesn't like sweats?? If you don't, you're crazy! I love that sweatpants have transformed into a trendy, wearable pant. J.Crew has done a fabulous job of creating a sweatpant that doesn't look frumpy or sloppy to wear in public. I'm obsessed. I'm also loving the SWEATSHIRT DRESS. I actually bought a gray sweatshirt dress last year from Old Navy!( I know so cheap and now it's a big deal this season). This version from James Perse is a little pricey but it really is something you can wear over and over again even into the Spring months.

I recommend investing in a simple color like gray, black or navy. You want it to be the base of your outfit not the focus. Let your accessories make the outfit which is why I chose more high-end items for this look. However, these high-end items are so versatile as well! The varsity jacket can be worn with literally anything...the Vince sneakers are the perfect all around casual shoe...and for those of us who cannot afford the Chanel quilted bag well here's a Rebecca Minkoff bag that looks identical and cost a fraction. Everyone is always trying to find that "Look for Less" or the "As Seen on Celebrities" specialty item. There are some amazing websites out there that tell us the brands celebrities wear but who can afford most of that?! I'm all about finding that look for less! Here are a few items I was drooling over but never in a million years would cough up the cash for a single piece. Well maybe that rag and bone sweater...

I Heart Halloween

I LOOOOOOVE HALLOWEEN!! Phew okay had to get that out. Cooler weather, candy corns, and costumes...I smell fall. Halloween is getting close so I knew I had to post about some items I am dying to get my hands on mooohahahaha. 

ASOS and Urban Outfitters are my go-to stores for everything Halloween. They always have really cool t-shirts and quirky costumes and accessories. All of these items except the MAC makeup can be found as asos.us.com or urbanoutfitters.com. I pretty much want it all!

What made me squeal like the Geico pig (weeee wee weeeee) and do the Time Warp...Rocky Horror Collection at MAC! Yippee this collection is gorgeous and it perfectly captures one of my favorite movies of all time. Most of it is sold out online so check your local MAC store and hurry it's going fast.

I'm always checking out the celeb style on various sites (People Style, OutfitID, WhoWhatWear) and gathering ideas for my next shopping excursion. Celebrities may wear a lot of brands I cannot afford or even get access to however, the inspiration is what I'm more interested in. Sometimes seeing an outfit pulled together lights up an idea for a piece I haven in my closet I haven't worn in ages or can't decide how to wear it.  Sometimes you just need a little inspiration...

Kendall Jenner is killing it on the catwalk and also in the streets. I really have grown to love her style and plus she's wearing pants from Zara which are very affordable and wearable for almost every body type. Plus they look super comfy!

Leighton tends to step outside the box when it comes to fashion. I appreciate her risks but sometimes she goes a little too far. These pants are fabulous and matched with a basic black tank and Brian Atwood pumps she really rocks this look!

Olivia, Olivia, Olivia, the girl always looks completely put together from head to toe. Speaking of toes those nude cage sandals are stunning! They are the perfect compliment to her monotone gray ensemble. She gets an A++ for this classy look.

Someone please give Jessica Alba a crown and scepter because the girl is the Queen of Street Style! Her looks are wearable, easy, and chic. Doesn't get much better. THE MAKEUP QUEEN

If you are like me and love watching make-up tutorials on You Tube then you may already know who this is, if not, you are missing out! While I was searching for bridal looks for my sister's wedding I came across MUA Jaclyn Hill. This woman has personality and spunk and not to mention talent. She's very knowledgeable about the products she uses and really explains how they work and who should use them. I'm officially hooked and have watched about 10 videos in 2 days. I also love that she uses affordable products like the Makeup Geek Eye Shadows (shown above) and her very own lip gloss Buttercream available at WhiteningLightening.com (shown above). I ordered the lip gloss and plan on ordering the shadows ASAP.

MUST-HAVE BOOTS

Nothing I love more about fall than the shoes! I wish I could wear boots everyday all day. My goal each season is to buy that one pair I could literally wear with everything and this year that boot is the Stuart Weitzman Semi Over the Knee Boot. It has a slight wedge heel to give you a little height and lengthen your legs as the same time. They can go over jeans, leggings or even pair them with a floral print dress. They are pricey but worth the splurge!

Moto boots and ankle boots are still very much in style. They are both so versatile and comfortable you can't go wrong with either trend. Invest in a pair with a little embellishment like the Vince Camuto Winta boot or the BC Footwear bootie to really make a statement! Happy shopping.

TAILGATE STYLE

I am a huge fan of Fashion Police on E! so in honor of Joan River's passing, I wanted to share with all you Joan Rangers out there what NOT to wear tailgating. I understand your outfit is supposed to be fun and at times crazy but these ladies have failed in all categories. Don't try so hard! You want attention I get it, but do you want negative attention? I think not.

THE HIPPIE LOOK: Headbands, fringe, and crochet tops oh my! If you are going to attempt this trend (even though it's not trendy unless you're at Coachella) at least buy the right size. Also, if I see one more pair of high-waisted denim shorts I'm going to puke. #MakeItStop

THE FASHIONISTA: This girl would rather make a statement than look like she's at a football game. The only statement this chick is making is she raided Beetlejuice's closet. Leave you high heels and giant earrings at home!

THE LINGERIE LOOK: Maybe she just did the walk of shame at a frat house or she just rolled out of bed, either way this is not okay! It's too sheer, too lacy and too ridiculous. Save it for a girl's night out and please wear a blazer or something over it. 

Let's talk about some better options...

If you want to dress up for a game try a simple purple dress and neutral booties. This outfit is available at Eros in Baton Rouge. The boots have a western flair but don't scream "Thank you for the country music award," and the dress is a flowy, lightweight fabric that can withstand those steamy hot Louisiana days.

The second outfit is from EDIT by LBP in Baton Rouge. I purchased this purple BB Dakota top myself and it's fabulous. The leather shorts may be uncomfortable in the humid weather so save those for a cooler fall game. Keep your accessories simple and shoes comfortable!

As is my leather obsession wasn't clear enough...I LOVE EVERYTHING LEATHER! This gray sweatshirt has quilted leather panels on the shoulders and down the sides. Pair it with distressed skinny jeans and pointy-toe pumps. 

STYLE FOCUS ON: Kourtney Kardashian

The one Kardashian I actually admire for her style is Kourtney. She takes risks and her style is very wearable. Even when she's pregnant, Kourtney always manages to put fashion first and look fabulous!

#OOTD

Even though I don't have a professional photographer like those other bloggers I'm obsessed with (Courtney Kerr and Rach Parcell) doesn't mean I can't post my own Outfits of the Day! With my trusty iPhone and bathroom mirror (and awkward pose lol) I give you my OOTD.

I love mixing high-end with bargain items like this $10 J.Crew scarf and Target sandals. I forgot to tag in the image my shorts are H&M and my bag (not pictured) Rebecca Minkoff Shea Tech Crossbody in black. My work attire is pretty casual but some days if I have a function that night I'll pack a pair of heels and boyfriend jeans for a quick change after work. A black blazer can also turn any day outfit into a chic night out look.

SHOPPING TRIP

I stopped at a local store in Baton Rouge called EDIT by LBP (next to Trader Joe's) and found some amazing items! If you are local you must visit the ladies at EDIT. You won't need to go anywhere else to fill your closet. They literally have it all!

I went in to buy a scarf and walked out with these two BB Dakota items. If you aren't in Baton Rouge you can buy these online at bbdakota.com. Can you tell I love leather.....leather sleeves on both! The jeans and purse in the pic are items I already had but I know both are still available in store. Happy shopping!

I am currently building a new home which one bedroom will be my brand new home office! I've search Pinterest for inspiration and yesterday I came across this fabulous design by www.dreamgreendiy.com.

I love the gold accents of the desk legs and matching lamp. The ghost chair is modest enough not to distract from the beautifully decorated desk area. Absolute perfection!

I'm Back!

Well it has been over a year since I last blogged and all I can say is I'm sorry! Luckily the last year has been AMAZING and I've been so busy with new and exciting ventures. Now that things have calmed down and I'm back in a rhythm I want to start blogging again. My goal is to post at least 3x's a week! Let's see if I can do it...
