Mascara's Tried and Tested
Choosing a mascara can be difficult with so many different options out there. And here's a newsflash, you don't have to spend $30 for a good mascara! I've tried out a few drugstore mascaras (some I use all the time) and a few high end mascaras to prove the $4.99 is just as good as the $30 brand.
MAC Opulash $14.00
I bought this mascara the second it hit stores and I fell in love. The brush is huge and thick but does not clump my lashes together. It's a little messy to get those bottom lashes but overall it's a great buy. I would consider this mascara in the middle as far as price but if you want to splurge a little and not a lot I recommend picking up this product.
Yves Saint Laurant Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara $30
I don't know why I thought this was a good idea I guess the shiny, gold tube suckered me in but this mascara is awful! Not only is it very expensive but it does nothing for my lashes but make them look like a hot mess. First of all the brush is very clumpy and the bristles do not all stand out rather they fold over onto the wand. And second the mascara flakes off after a few hours of wear. Touche Eclat may be one of the best products out there but YSL definitely failed in the mascara department.
Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara $7.49
I never thought another drugstore mascara would be better than Maybelline Great Lash but this one takes the cake! With a triple curved brush and small rubber bristles, this mascara extends the look of my lashes in just one coat. It's the perfect size for getting those stubborn bottom lashes without making a mess. This mascara is a steal and is sold in most drugstores.
Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara $19
I wanted to put this mascara on the list mostly because it comes in a great shade of navy blue. It's not something you wear everyday of course but for a night out, it can add that little twist to your otherwise routine makeup. The brush is much larger than any mascara I've seen (even bigger then MAC's Opulash) and coats in a few sweeps of the lash. Give it a try even if you just buy the black version.

Skin Care Breakdown
I've tried a few new products lately and I thought I'd share my reviews on a few.
Origins Brigher by Nature Skin Brightening Serum
This product is a clinically proven plant serum with Japanese Basil Leaf, Cucumber and naturally-derived Vitamin C helps create more even skin tone and zap the appearance of dark spots.
This product has an amazing smell but getting results is a slow process. I don't have dark or age spots but I do get those stubborn red patches after a breakout that take forever to go away. This product has definitely lightened those red spots but they are not completely gone yet. I've used this product for about 2 1/2 weeks now. Another great product to try is Clinique's Even Better Skintone Corrector.
Star rating 7 out of 10
Origins Modern Friction
I received a sample of this product when I bought the serum and I LOVE IT! This is the best exfoliator I've ever used. It's supposed to work like microdermabrasion without the cost of microdermabrasion. I highly recommend using this product as a bi-weekly exfoliator to blast away dead skin and discolorations. Star rating 10 out of 10.
Embryolisse Lait Creme Concetrate
Embryolisse is a company based in France and just recently opened Embryolisse USA. I used to have to place my order with a pharmacy in France but since they opened state side I can order directly from Embryolisse USA in Florida. They offer a wide range of skin care products and my favorite is this moisturizer. I use it at night after cleansing and underneath my makeup when I don't wear a primer. A little bit goes a long way and it's only $25.00!

Fall Fashion A-Z
In the October issue of Marie Claire there was a small booklet insert that listed all the top fall trends from A-Z. I thought I'd share the list and a selection or two from each category. Enjoy!
A-Animal: 3.1 Phillip Lim Leopard Bag $365

C-Chains: Banana Republic Chain Top $79.50
D-Doctor: Adrienne Vittadini doctor bag in brown croc $298
E- Equestrian: I love this look! J.Crew makes the most beautiful boots and last season I purchased the Vintage Tall Roadster in brown. They aren't available anymore but check out jcrew.com for this seasons looks.
F- Fuzz: This look has Rachel Zoe written all over it! I found a great faux fur vest at piperlime.com for only $69.00!
G- Gray: Anything and Everything!
H-Heavy Metal: A great way to sport this trend is through accessories. I really love the heavy chain necklaces in stores now. They are great under a blazer with jeans.
I'm skipping "I" and "J" because they were skin care products.
K- Knit: I think I could win a contest for the most knit sweaters in my wardrobe. LOVE!
L- Leather: one word...jacket
M- Military: By far my favorite trend. Army green cargo jacket is a must this season.
" N" and "O"...NO
P-Pumps: Black Round Platform Pumps can be transitioned into any wardrobe.
Q-Quilt: When in doubt grab a Chanel bag. They'll never go out of style.

S-Silk: Oversized Silk Blouses. BCBGMAXAZRIA Silk Crepe de Chine Tunic $178
T-Time: The oversized watch is here to stay. Michael Kors makes my favorite watches.

Back to the norm...
So I've been on vacation the past 4 days and even though I had my computer I just did not feel like blogging so...I figured I had to come back with something good to talk about! Well I've been obsessing over a product for a while now and when I finally decided to buy it I couldn't!! Let me explain.
MAC has a pro store available to make up artists, models, beauticians, and other professionals in similar fields. You must apply to receive your membership. The reason I know this is because I have been trying to figure out how to get my own membership to buy the coveted MAC Reflects Pearl! It's a fantastic product that has multiple uses, but it's mainly a white glittery powder for your eyes. Here's a makeup tutorial using MAC Reflects Pearl for an evening look...Tanya Burr Tutorial.

Labor Day Recipe
Labor Day is sort of an unofficial BBQ holiday, well maybe behind the 4th of July. So I wanted to share my favorite turkey burger recipe for anyone who is looking to try something new!

½ cup onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons cumin

Product Review
I recently tried the new Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail varnish and I must say it actually does what it says. The brush alone was enough to sell me on this product. It has a flat tapered end that perfectly covers your entire nail in a few swipes. It also cuts down on time since it's your base coat, color and top coat all in one! It dries fairly quickly and leaves behind a beautiful shine. The color I used is #610 Red Zin which looks like this...

The IT Jeans
I'm always in search of the perfect pair of jeans and my favorite Banana Republic jeans have just about had it. I'm surprised they don't hold their shape when I take them off I wear them so much. Anyway I'm pretty confident these are going to be my new favorite jeans of ALL TIME! Check out the new line of Levi's that just hit the stores (or online where I tend to shop more)...

Moto Madness
Fall is around the corner and the stores are filled with new fall trends. One I am hoping to snag this fall is a pair of motorcycle boots. Since my All Saints Damisi boots are SOLD OUT, I had to find a new boot to obsess over. Here's my top 3 picks...
