Choosing a mascara can be difficult with so many different options out there. And here's a newsflash, you don't have to spend $30 for a good mascara! I've tried out a few drugstore mascaras (some I use all the time) and a few high end mascaras to prove the $4.99 is just as good as the $30 brand.
MAC Opulash $14.00
I bought this mascara the second it hit stores and I fell in love. The brush is huge and thick but does not clump my lashes together. It's a little messy to get those bottom lashes but overall it's a great buy. I would consider this mascara in the middle as far as price but if you want to splurge a little and not a lot I recommend picking up this product.
Yves Saint Laurant Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara $30
I don't know why I thought this was a good idea I guess the shiny, gold tube suckered me in but this mascara is awful! Not only is it very expensive but it does nothing for my lashes but make them look like a hot mess. First of all the brush is very clumpy and the bristles do not all stand out rather they fold over onto the wand. And second the mascara flakes off after a few hours of wear. Touche Eclat may be one of the best products out there but YSL definitely failed in the mascara department.
Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara $7.49
I never thought another drugstore mascara would be better than Maybelline Great Lash but this one takes the cake! With a triple curved brush and small rubber bristles, this mascara extends the look of my lashes in just one coat. It's the perfect size for getting those stubborn bottom lashes without making a mess. This mascara is a steal and is sold in most drugstores.
Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara $19
I wanted to put this mascara on the list mostly because it comes in a great shade of navy blue. It's not something you wear everyday of course but for a night out, it can add that little twist to your otherwise routine makeup. The brush is much larger than any mascara I've seen (even bigger then MAC's Opulash) and coats in a few sweeps of the lash. Give it a try even if you just buy the black version.
